The growth performance and feed conversion ratio of different varieties of ducks i.e. White Pekin, Khaki Campbell, Deshi and Muscovy type Moti ducks were studied. The Moti ducks were collected from the hilly and tribal area of Malkangiri district of Orissa. The eggs of Deshi ducks were collected from different parts of Orissa and hatched in the hatchery. The White Pekin and Khaki Campbell ducks were collected from CPDO, Bangalore. The ducklings were reared under standard feeding and managemental practices. The weekly body weight and daily feed intake of the ducks were recorded up to 6 th week of age. At the end of the 6 th week the body weight of Deshi, Khaki Campbell, Moti and White Pekin were 1031.611.19, 1163.06.45, 1293.818.09 and 1897.418.87 g, respectively. The feed conversion ratio (FCR) was 3.280.06, 4.440.12, 2.750.08 and 2.100.04 in Deshi, Khaki Campbell, Moti and White Pekin, respectively. From this present study, it is evident that significantly higher growth rate and lower feed conversion ratio were observed in White Pekin than other varieties of ducks.
