A histo-pathological study was made on the ameliorating effect of dietary supplementation of methionine in excess level, during experimental aflatoxicosis in broiler chicken. While the toxin level was maintained at 300 ppb, the DL-methionine was used in excess levels, i.e., 0.30, 0.50, 0.65 and 0.80 per cent. The histo- pathological changes of control- and toxin alone fed groups were compared with those of different levels of methionine fed groups. It was observed that feeding aflatoxin severely affected the hepatic and renal tissues while no changes were noticed in the spleen, bursa of Fabricius, heart and proventriculus. However, feeding of dietary excess levels of methionine reversed the damages in liver and kidney tissues and the repairing effect was directly proportional to the level of methionine.
